Local Hi-Tech Firm Invites Blumenthal for Visit

Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-Connecticut) was in Newtown Monday to visit SMT Corporation on High Bridge Road.

After testifying before the Senate Armed Services Committee last November, SMT Corporation's Vice President Tom Sharpe issued an invite to Sen. Richard Blumenthal for a tour of the Sandy Hook facility, which specializes in electronic components and counterfeit detection of such parts. On Monday, Blumenthal took Sharpe up on his offer, spending about an hour and a half at SMT, 14 High Bridge Road, before heading to Danbury to visit with Goodrich, an aerospace and defense system and service supplier, and later Henry Abbott Technical High School and Rizzo Corporation in Danbury. Paul, you haven't answered the question, were you aware that the current Governor of Ct has been in office for only a year, and is the first Governor of CT in 20 years that is a DEMOCRAT ? The current governor is doing the responsible thing of paying off the debts run up under the previous Republican governors. Is that what you would lioke to discuss?   more ›
